After Richie finishes with the Gypsies, Lemke agrees to meet with Billy. As I read it, I had a hand clasped tightly over my mouth and I was gaping. They may be a bit non-mainstream and overly quick to exact their own vengeance, but Billy Halleck and his cronies are a much more frightening type of bad. It was about a man who got cursed, and now he's losing weight everyday, and he fears that it will come to a point where he'll turn into nothing. I'd had a little experience with Thinner I think I read the first chapter before giving up and never going back to it, until now , so I had no prior relationship with the story. In the movie it is all about a possible affair between Heidi and the doctor which wasn't done that well and lacked believability.
I have now finished the book at seventeen, therefore I suggest that the reader should be at least sixteen years of age. Maybe I just like terrible movies. Su idea es muy interesante: una persona obesa que va perdiendo peso por un maleficio hecho por una gitana. What did I like and dislike about this one? I love it when King gets in his Dickensian, full-on social commentator persona; it shouldn't be a surprise that the '90s is my favorite Stephen King decade, as far as his writing goes. The flow as I said earlier got really bad when Ginelli gets introduced. This has excellent make-up effects by two time Oscar-winner Greg Cannon Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Lost Boys, White Chicks.
I don't want to spoilt any of the plot detail, because it's truly a jou to watch it unfold. Stephen King creates a tense and suspenseful mood which makes this novel hard to put down. This guy can make haunted cars and soda machines believable and menacing, for chrissakes. This novel can be somewhat difficult to read; I tried and failed when I was thirteen. And you can quote me. It's fun writing about books I love, and it's fun ripping to shreds books I hate.
Stephen King books sound so different from his normal ones. Had he just gotten lucky? The ending blew me away, and left me wanting for at least a hundred more pages. Otherwise, he wouldn't have concocted such a nutty yarn as this! I have always loved the movie, and now the book takes its place in my list of King favorites. What Billy doesn't know is that the father of the old woman has friends in high places as well. Es un libro que en varias partes se me hizo denso. Throughout this mysterious and slightly morbid novel, readers can follow the path of middle-aged Billy who undergoes a series of strange and risky events after mistakenly running over an old Gypsy woman with his car. The book was creepy, strange, bizarre, and outlandishly funny at times, too. The town he lives in is hosting a carnival, run by that some of the townspeople hold obvious prejudice against, although Billy himself doesn't seem to. At the beginning of Stephen King's career, the general view among publishers was that an author was limited to one book per year, since publishing more would be unacceptable to the public. If there is a person to like - After all, Billy did kill the old gyspy woman; and after all, the old gypsy's revenge is much out of proportion.

I was really surprised at that. Thinner is a story of an attorney called Billy Halleck, and the curse that was laid upon him by a gipsy.
But, that said, I've never read this book. For every great film Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Shining there are some real piles of rubbish. Some are good, some not so much. These are slower in my opinion and more generically written, if I may be so bold. Kari Wuhrer displays a particularly obvious lack of talent, and Robert John Burke proves that he doesn't have the charisma or talent to carry a movie.
He is also overweight, a fact which his doctor is always reminding him of. . The case is quickly dismissed; after all, Billy is a lawyer and no one in town is exactly a fan of gypsies.
